Since 2017, my family has sponsored a student's education costs from high school through college graduation. We donate 3000 RMB annually covering tuition, books, and supplies.

From 2021, then as 10 grade student with a passion for IT technology, I was excited that my father introduced me to a program helping underprivileged students in China learn about Java and coding basic knowledge. In 2023, through ZOOM, remotely I presented an interactive lesson with many popular AI modules and applications such as ChatGPT, Claude and Bard to explain how AI works and its real world impacts. My goal is to inspire these students by showing how technology can improve lives and open career paths, despite difficult circumstances. I hope to equip them with AI knowledge and lasting motivation to pursue their dreams. Teaching these eager young minds about AI's potential is extremely rewarding.

When teaching students in underprivileged areas, I notice they rarely ask questions. They tend to be very shy and reluctant to dig deeper into the material. During my lectures, I'm met with nodding heads but blank stares that signify limited engagement. These students seem to lack confidence to speak up and feel intimidated interacting.
I strive to foster a welcoming environment where they feel comfortable asking anything without judgement.
My limited experience shows impoverished students need ongoing moral support and confidence-building, along with financial assistance, to unlock their full potential. Investing in both financial and mental uplift can truly transform lives. I hope more families to adopt this dual approach to support students in need.
The student we first sponsored in 2017 has now graduated college and found a stable job, the first in her family to complete higher education.
